Slovakia’s prime minister visits Prague to talk on coronavirus crisis and international relations

Slovakia’s new prime minster, Eduard Heger, is on a one day working visit to the Czech Republic on Thursday. He is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and the speakers of both houses of Parliament before being received by President Miloš Zeman. The talks are expected to cover the coronavirus crisis, bilateral relations, plans for the countries’ post-pandemic recovery and cooperation within the Visegrad group, which comprises the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland.

Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová swore in a new coalition government led by Prime Minister Eduard Heger on April 1, ending a month-long political crisis triggered by a secret deal to buy Russian Sputnik V vaccines.
